The the verdict on my dandelion tea…
I know you’re just dying to hear about how my dandelion root tea went?!
Well, if I’m totally honest with you, it was kind of gross! 🤢
I did add lemon and honey, but even then… It tasted a bit like holland and barrett.
The good thing is- if you can push past the taste there are tons of health beneifts.

Supports detoxification

Keeps you hydrated
And helps remove excess salt and water from the body.
It’s a powerful little root, and worth a try for the incredible health benefits. (I’ll share the method later)
I’m glad I tried it, and I’m going to see how I go with it.

If you did want to try the Dandelion root Tea (I mean, the health benefits are WILD)- here’s the method I used…
Ingredients:

Dandelion roots (harvested from pesticide-free areas)

Water
-
Honey & Lemon
Instructions:

Harvest dandelion roots from an area where pesticides have not been used. Make sure to wash the roots thoroughly to remove any dirt or debris.

Preheat your oven to 250°F / 120°C.

Spread the cleaned dandelion roots on a baking sheet in a single layer.

Roast the roots in the preheated oven for about 2 hours, or until they are completely dry and browned. This roasting process helps to enhance the flavor of the roots.

Once the roots are roasted and cooled, you can crush or chop them into smaller pieces to increase the surface area for brewing.

Bring water to a boil in a pot or kettle. Use approximately 1 tablespoon of dried, roasted dandelion root for every cup of water.

Add the crushed or chopped dandelion roots to the boiling water.

Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for about 5-10 minutes.

Remove the pot from the heat and let the tea steep for an additional 5-10 minutes to extract the flavors fully.

Strain the tea through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth to remove the dandelion roots.

You can add honey, lemon, or other flavorings to enhance the taste.
